We’re partnering with Mind to highlight the importance of financial wellbeing.

 

Whether it’s dealing with the hassle of losing your bank card, making things stretch until the end of the month, or tackling the unexpected moments that life throws at you, money worries can weigh heavily on our minds. And coupled with growing concerns around scams and security, it’s important to bank with someone who’s got your back.

Even at 2am on a Saturday.

Someone who’s actually available (online or by phone).

Relatable.

And importantly, someone who gets things sorted.

The wellbeing and confidence of our customers and people has always been a top priority for us. From our workplace wellness initiatives or our round-the-clock support lines, we’ve always gone above and beyond when it comes to taking care of our people and customers.

But we think there’s still more we can do to build on this.

Money and mental health are quite often linked and have a real impact on each other. Poor mental health can make managing money harder and worrying about money can make your mental health worse.

This knock on effect is why we’ve partnered with Mind, the mental health charity.

There are over one million people with both debt and mental health problems living in the UK. And these people are twice as likely to develop depression.

Mind campaigns to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding so everyone facing a mental health problem can get support and respect.

By partnering with Mind, we want to really shine a light on the effects that money and mental health have on each other. This topic has always been so important to us at first direct and we want to share more of the support and information that is available to help people feel more confident in their choices about money.
